If my intuition about the .be domain is correct.

Mercedes' design language is starting to get ridiculously frumpy. This is not attractive.

Hmmm I like my W204 better, well the exterior. This looks like an S-class and an E-class had baby (and it's not fully grown yet).
Also: when was the last time the Belgians screwed the Germans? Maybe this is revenge for being invaded twice?

Looks better than the current one, to me.

Looks nice, but very conservative.
And yes, .be is Belgium

They shall soon introduce a new shape for exhaust tips that'll better communicate their newly found design orientation; enter the frumpet .

But those Belgians. They made you so damn evil.
And of course they share a border with the Dutch.

It is melted cheese. And you know what you do with melted cheese. You stick your meat into it and enjoy the delicious taste.

A Mercedes that is reminiscent of a Kia that ripped off an earlier version of this Mercedes? Say it isn't so!

WW1, Germany lost time with Belgium, France had time to prepare for war.

I actually tried to see the resemblance but I see exactly none between that Kia and the Merc. The Merc's rear window is a lot flatter, where the Kia's curves toward verticality at the bottom. Same with the C-pillar.
If anything, the c-pillar, roof/rear window looks like the lincoln town car:

Oh, well that's just Germany's fault for going through Belgium anyways (which caused Italy to switch sides anyways).

Wow looks pretty much 100% like the S.

I actually see that C pillar of the Town Car in the Merc as well :/

I clicked on the post without paying attention to the title, and sat there looking at the first picture for about 20 seconds, thinking it was an S-class. Family resemblance is one thing, but this is straight cloning!

People seem to get scared when premium car makers, leave the conservative barnyard.
So, the two pictured, deserve kudos for having the balls to make premium cars that don't look quite like their older generations. I'm waiting for Cadillac to get sharper, with every model, as the ATS already looks half decade old, and it really is a pity, as it is a very good car, except for the CUE system and the manual gearbox.

In the past, the C class has taken visual cues from the S class, and that's OK.
But now the C class is starting to imitate the CLS too, which is the ugliest Mercedes I've ever seen. Why? Why ?
I accept that modern carmakers have to target different segments, and presumably there's somebody out there who wants a car that looks like a plastic toy which their toddler put in the microwave until the plastic melts, hence the CLS was built. But why let that infect Mercedes' mass-market offering?
